The 2016 Car Classic is more than just another high-profile car show, this popular public event celebrates the very best in automotive design, showcasing the College’s strong ties to industry and honoring many of our noteworthy alumni. This year, ACCD highlights handcrafted vehicles from the past and present and will hear from the people who build and collect them.

“Cars Of Character” Sets A New Standard

AutoDesignO’s flagship event, “Cars of Character”, redefines how professionals explore automotive design, bringing outside amazing concept and preproduction cars, and offering visual presentations on a theater big screen. The event at Warner Brothers Studios sheds light on the talent, technology, and inspirations in the clandestine world of automotive design.

Biomimicry & Mobility 2025: 2013 Design Challenge

Each year for the past 10 years, the Design Challenge theme is chosen by the DesignLA Board of Directors. The board is made up of a dozen design studio executives. Automotive design studios from around the world are invited to participate and this year, studios from Germany, Japan and the U.S. will compete to design “Biomimicry & Mobility 2025: Nature’s Answer to Human Challenges.” With biological knowledge doubling every five years, designers now have the instruments and the capacity to mimic nature like never before. Nature is becoming one of the best R&D labs we know.
