Rocket Takes Flight
America has a love affair with all things related to space travel starting in the 60s and 70s. The recent automotive venture of Galpin Auto Sports and Henrik Fisker has created a project reflective of that time. No, the Rocket’s design isn’t similar to a metal cylinder, but it is unmistakably inspired by specialty pony cars of the 1960’s and early 1970’s including the 1968 Shelby GT500. The Rocket’s lines emanate from the front, through the long hood, over a set of sculptured flared fenders and converge on its integrated rear spoiler, belying the car’s extreme power and refined athleticism.
