EyesOn Design at Ford House to Celebrate The Art of Design with 38th Car Show, Design Symposiums, Driving Tour and Presentation of Lifetime Design Achievement Award to Ian Callum CBE.
Each Father’s Day, thousands of car fans journey to the idyllic home of Edsel and Eleanor Ford in southeast Michigan for the visual feast that is EyesOn Design. Organized around an annual design theme, 200+ vehicle owners are invited to share their rolling sculpture with the world at a car show like no other.
Unlike concours events, judging is conducted predominately by automotive designers using professional design criteria, not based on restoration or authenticity. The event attracts some of the world’s leading designers, collectors, and fans for an unpretentious and unmatched day.
Also unique among car shows, one class of cars is judged by a group called the Visionaries — blind and visually impaired judges donning white gloves and evaluating the vehicles only by touch. The Visionaries represent the mission upon which EyesOn Design was originally conceived — to support the work of the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology.
Founded in 1988, EyesOn Design has raised millions of dollars to support the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology. The DIO, a division of the Henry Ford Health Department of Ophthalmology, supports the visually impaired and organizes groundbreaking eye research conferences.

Symposium II: The Art of the Designer
A curated collection of art from the automotive design process
1pm–3pm
$50 per person
EyesOn Design Chief Judge Glen Durmisevich leads a conversation about a unique artform: a curated collection of automotive design drawings, renderings and illustrations. This style of design communication, especially the older original hand-created artwork, has caught the discerning eye and imagination of collectors who focus on automotive art. Come explore some of the designs, process and techniques and hear the stories told by some of the designers who created these true works of art.
Adam Wade, well known for his YouTube channel “Rare Classic Cars & Automotive History,” will moderate a panel of designers including:
