Hoods and hoodies come together for a little summer fun and culture. Hurely’s headquarters in Costa Mesa was a mash-up of all things iconic in Southern California. Of course, Bob Hurley is stoked to reflect on his history growing up in the area, and what influenced his company, Hurley.
What is here on display? It might be easier to state what isn’t! The lot is flooded with lowriders of nearly every shape, size and color.
Of course, there’s more custom cars, motorcycles, bikes and skateboards, and guitars than you care to count. Besides the static displays, there a skate park inside one of the warehouses. Doesn’t every company have one as an employee perk?
Hurley also makes great use of vacant space in what would normally be a room for printing, creating a pop up gallery. The photos and renderings show influential images from the birth of the skate industry. The framed memories are look back into the lives and cultures that were influencing our lives in the 70s.
Perhaps it’s nothing more than a coincidence, but this is like a life lesson. Keep your eyes and mind open, you never know what you might find!
