Global automotive supplier Visteon Corporation and Rightware, a leader in user interaction (UI) design and benchmarking software, have extended their successful collaboration to a strategic partnership to deliver leading-edge UI and graphics solutions for the automotive industry.

Combining each partner’s strengths, Visteon and Rightware will provide vehicle manufacturers with industry-leading human machine interaction (HMI) solutions using high-definition 3D graphic rendering technologies, capable of delivering photorealistic graphics in various configurations inside the vehicle.

The partners recently launched the first reconfigurable cluster program incorporating the Kanzi UI solution with a North American vehicle manufacturer, and further programs are under development for key European manufacturers.

“The partnership with Rightware supports Visteon’s goal of gaining a strategic advantage in user interface and graphics technology,” said Visteon’s Christian Feltgen, vice president technology office, electronics. “Visteon is investing in solutions that enable a seamless user experience across the cockpit ecosystem, which offers flexibility throughout the life of the product.”

Jonas Geust, CEO of Rightware, added: “Visteon and Rightware share a common vision for the future of the automotive market, HMI development and the positive impact this can have on consumers’ life onboard the vehicle. This partnership demonstrates a joint commitment to bring an exciting in-car experience to life.”

Rightware’s Kanzi UI solution enables design and engineering teams to rapidly create and deploy advanced user interfaces for automotive applications. Kanzi also offers high-definition, real-time 2D and 3D graphics rendering which – combined with Visteon’s high-fidelity, real-time graphical user interfaces – delivers superior graphical performance for next-generation cockpit electronics technologies.

Visteon’s LightScape™ (a digital and fully reconfigurable instrument cluster platform) and OpenAir™ digital in-vehicle-infotainment (IVI) products were developed using Rightware’s Kanzi UI solution.
